Hey all, my 4 yr old Russian Blue Smoque is a very skinny furball. He gets Science Diet indoor formula for adult cats. 2 c per day1 in the am 1 in the pm. and the occasional treat of their canned at most 1 every 2 weeks. Hes healthy, up todate on shots, meds and quite active now that Patches our 4 yr old maniac kitten is here..lol. Im happy with how he is its just hes so thin and you can feel his bones when you pet him. Spine, hip bones and ribs. I want to get a bit of meat on him, any suggestions? Cups as in the cups we use to measure dry ingerdients with. Leveled and never a heaping serving.
I had him checked 6 months ago for his yr physical the Vet never said a thing about weight or diet. Its ME and my family thats a bit worried about him

My cat is gray, he is a Russian Blue. His name is Elwood, but you can call him Frank.

My question is this, he is declawed and is strictly an indoor cat. Although he is very curious about the outside world, he can not go outdoors as he does not have the tools necessary to survive in the wilderness.

To keep him entertained, I buy feeder mice from Timmy’s Pet Shop on Ashland and let them run rampant inside for Elwood (Frank) to chase around and try to pounce. The problem is, the mice always rough him up and it is destroying Elwood’s self esteem constantly getting beat up by 2oz. rodents.

Can I give my cat FGH (Feline Growth Hormone)? I have heard great things that this will bulk him up really good and make his fangs grow 3 inches so he can be a very intimidating Russian Blue, instead of the meek and timid cat the he is now.

Are there side effects? Will he become temperamental and start acting like a typical meathead on steroids?

I’m tired of mice beating him up!
You guys have been a great help, thanks…I have decided I will no longer bring home any mice for him.

I have decided I will now try to have him play with these two big water dragons…they are only about 30 lbs each, so they should all be good friends really quickly. Hopefully they will work out together and help Elwood (Frank) get strong and tough, like a bear. Then I won’t have to give him FGH.

She was going to be spayed and returned to the colony, but they discovered she is very friendly and decided to find her a forever home. She has lived with her foster mom for about a month now, and she’s very shy but not aggressive. She hasn’t scratched or bitten anyone, but she has her spot behind a door where she always hides (till it’s time to eat). When you can get her to come out, she loves to be scratched behind the ears and pet. I know it will take her some time, but does anyone have any suggestions for how I can make her transition to my home easier and less stressful? I am hoping she won’t be the cat that I never see, so how long should I give her to “come out of her shell?”
